Wow… I’ve never heard a more perfect example of God’s grace.
“In a scene from the movie Ironweed, the characters played by Jack Nicholson and Meryl Streep stumble across an old Eskimo woman lying in the snow, probably drunk. Besotted themselves, the two debate what they should do about her.
“‘Is she drunk or a bum?’ asks Nicholson.
‘Just a bum. Been one all her life.’
‘And before that?’
‘She was a whore in Alaska.’
Ronald T. Habermas. His main point in this particular essay was that the upcoming generation of Christians must not shy away from long-term service despite the overwhelming brokenness caused by divorce and other issues plaguing our generation. I thought this was interesting considering what I posted the other day by a non-Christian from The Atlantic:
